Meeting Comments: I hope everyone else enjoyed last night's meeting as much as I did. We had some fun, but we got the committee work underway and had a taste of Joint Council with an example of "Minute To Win It". We have a short turn around time before the next meeting so this will be a brief blog post.

Service Project:
Gently used or new items for the BRO. Thanks to Donna Cook for giving us the background information on the BRO

Program: Professional Dress or "What NOT To Wear When Teaching". I volunteered to be a "What to Wear" model. You wouldn't want to look at me all meeting in the "What NOT To Wear." Sue Ritchey (Valley) will be asking for the models. LEt her know if you are willing to come dressed in a role. We can have fun with this!

Building Reps : we need the meal reservations
NO LATER THAN SEPT 8.

Reminder: The 25 cent charge for not wearing your pin will begin at the September meeting. The money will go to the Scholarship Fund.

I would like to apologize to Michelle Hogan for not adding her to the email list and we welcome her back! The mistake was mine, Michelle, and I am very sorry. WELCOME!

August 30, 2010. Be there!

Our Next meeting, Monday, August 30, 2010!

I hope you have had an enjoyable summer and are ready to do one of the most important tasks one can do, educate children. What a year we are going to have. I have spent a great deal of time thinking about everything people have told me and have tried to incorporate that in our activities for this year. It makes me smile, when I think of all we have planned.I can't wait to get started.

This month's meeting will be great fun and include some time for planning. I have 4 requests for you for this meeting.

  1. Personally ask a member we haven't seen in awhile to join us on August 30 th. We won't disappoint them.

  2. Please bring a "Favorite Thing" for $10 or less. Be prepared to briefly tell why it is your favorite thing. We had all kinds of wonderful things last year, like gift cards from favorite restaurants, homemade jellies, cool office supplies, golf balls, different brands of beers, and 2 Pedi-Eggs. Everyone will take home a "Favorite Thing" of their choice that brings a "Favorite Thing".

  3. For our new regional project the Executive Committee has chosen the Board of Religious Organizations (BRO-St. Louis) http://bro-saintlouis.blogspot.com/ They need new and gently used stuffed animals, toys, games, puzzles, dolls, children's and chapter books, new stocking stuffers for children ages 4 - 10, toiletries for girls 9- 10, items for baby layettes , sizes infant 3 - 9 months. This is a project that a large portion of our members donate time to, so please help them out. We will be collecting these items at the August and September meetings.

  4. Please wear your pin. Ribbons will be sold at this meeting. Contact Anne F. if you still need to order a pin.

I want to thank all of you who answered my call this summer and took on the chair positions of our committees. Names are listed in the Committee information on this blog. Also, my thanks go to all of the old and new officers. I appreciate their willingness to work with me for the next 2 years.

Thanks to Pam Penrose and the Joint Council Committee for meeting this summer and coming up with wonderful entertainment and decoration ideas for the October 4th Joint Council Meeting. My anxiety level has dropped to almost normal again.

All meeting will be held at Northwest Valley Library beginning at 5 PM. Candie's Catering will be feeding us again this year, all meals will be a uniform $9. Any extra will go to the Scholarship Fund.

The next meeting is August 30, 2010 at NWV Library at 5PM. We will present our "Favorite things". Donna Cook ( our blog specialist and retired NW teacher) will inform us on the "BRO" and their needs. We will also break into committees and plan upcoming meetings. As you can see, this is an important meeting, I hope to see everyone there.

Building Reps....Last day to turn in names for meals is August 23rd.

Dinner will be Chicken Salad on Crescent Roll, Salad, Chips, Iced Tea, and Banana Pudding.

Please add Gamma Tau'k Blogspot to your favorites, to help when I mess up the link in my email to you.
